From Concept to Final. Round 1
Have you ever wondered what a Character looked like before they finalized the design? Well, for the next weeks to come, I will be sharing what some of your favorite characters both looked like during concept to final design.
It is so nice to see rough early stage drawings or sketches. Most people think that where an artist finishes with his or her work is where they started.
Not so.
The education of the leaning to draw process is one of building, a bit like the construction of a building!
Start with the wireframe in the foundation for the concrete to take hold. This is the reinforcement of a solid beginning.
Build from there.
So nice stuff on this blog, look and learn and remember, "Anyone CAN learn to draw!".
I loved everything about this movie, from the writing, to the art, and music, and voices. Great post! any chance you have some pics of the rooster/narrator by chance?
this is such a great blog! I really like the idea of showing a character from the concept to the final design. I have never thought that the governor was that thin in a stage :p waiting for round 2 ;)
Thanks for posting these, Randal. Especially the 'Robin Hood' desgns. I have been a huge fan of that movie since I was a kid, and was so disappointed by the lack of special features on the DVD that came out.

Thanks for showing the process.
It's always nice to see how we arrive at any given place(in art or in real world places). Getting there is usually half the fun.
looking forward to the other ones you have planned.
Thanks again.
